` DAMASCUS ROAD : x-men roleplay « Result #1 on Nov 16, 2008, 8:16am »
We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. That among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Four years have elapsed since both X-Men and Brotherhood faced the blazing fury of the Phoenix on Alcatraz Island. Time enough for Jean Grey’s death to be mourned by those who cared for her, and for those tears to be wiped away in turn by the wondrous reappearance of Charles Xavier. Reinstated as headmaster and leader of the X-Men, the future once again looks hopeful – periods of darkness will always be interspersed with light, however faint. Proving that medical means could never offer a real solution to what some humans saw as a threat, reports that effects of the ‘cure’ were wearing off were confirmed to be true; mutants everywhere regaining total use of their powers with the fullness of time, whether they had volunteered to be stripped of their x-gene or otherwise. Maintaining a civil relationship with the government and tolerated by the public, it would appear that mutantkind and Xavier’s own dreams of acceptance might finally stand a fighting chance.
Diversity makes tolerance more than a virtue. It makes it a requirement for survival.
Scattered and disconcerted after their metal-manipulating leader was deprived of his gifts and with no one else resolute or willing enough to guide them, the Brotherhood lay in tatters. Still licking the wounds of Magneto’s stinging betrayal even after regaining her mutation, Mystique’s staunch and unwavering belief in the liberty of her kind remained evident even while forced to live the life of those she detested; perpetually driven by the thought of slavery at the hands of humanity and ideals that had been imprinted into her mind by the very man who would abandon her. Believing it to be a cause worth fighting tooth and nail to uphold, the metamorph set out to regroup the Brotherhood under her own reign, rebuild the underground organisation from its roots and fill her ranks with the like-minded – those who are willing to do anything to ensure that homo superior inherit the earth.
Courage is poorly housed that dwells in numbers; The lion never counts the herd that are about him Nor weighs how many flocks he has to scatter.
Yet even the most tenuous balance can never truly be held firm for long, and not all humans are quite so accepting. Those with the utmost faith will prove to be mutantkind's greatest detractors.

Marvel Universe: The Saga of 616 « Result #3 on Oct 8, 2008, 11:37pm »
"I am Uatu… the Watcher! For countless centuries, I have observed the Earth, taking great interest in the rise of superhumans on the planet. While these beings have existed since the dawn of mankind itself, at no point has their influence on the world and the universe beyond been greater than now. Chance acts and isolated incidents have caused a chain reaction that grows deadlier with each passing event.
Millions upon millions of years ago, when the universe was still young and new, godlike beings with unfathomable powers walked the cosmos long before life itself had been introduced into existence. These cosmic entities, known as Celestials, visited countless galaxies while experimenting on primitive and undeveloped organisms of all shapes and sizes. Some species survived their genetic tampering, while others failed. The exact objective as to why these Celestials conducted these actions is still unknown, but their actions of long ago still have consequences to this very day. And of all the planets within all the solar systems affected by the Celestial’s research and testing, no other world has been affected more than planet Earth.
Today, it’s been over a decade and a half since the very beginning of the now daily strange and unusual happenings commenced within the history of the planet. Humans endowed with superhuman abilities. These superheroes, unknown to the mass population of the world, are the direct results of the cosmic beings’ influence. Each and every one of them, although linked through their ancestor’s genetic tampering, is unique and do experience their newfound superhuman traits under various and numerous circumstances. Some through birth. Some through science. Some through magic. Others through accidents. Regardless of how they were acquired or what they are, the people of the planet now revere them as heroes while others fear them as villains. For years their epic and colossal conflicts amongst each other have remained constant. The world has seen their heroes and villains rise and fall but never cease to be. Yet their influence on their home was not restricted to their planet as they would traverse the galaxy after galaxy to find they were not alone. The universe would never be the same again.
This is just one possibility of what is to be within the multiverse of thousands of separate universes. Yet this universe, above all, remains the most prominent of the rest. Named only, as universe 616..."

Xavier's Legacy « Result #11 on Sept 19, 2008, 8:15am »
The death of Professor Charles Xavier was shocking news to all that knew him. Even some of those considered as enemies were shaken by the news.
The X-Men were placed under the control of Cyclops, which was expected by those on the team. Then came the unexpected. A young woman out the blue arrived on the scene, stating that she had rights to the Xavier Institute. She didn't come alone either. She came with lawyers and various paperwork. Including paperwork which wasn't known by any of the X-Men.

Paradise Manor « Result #18 on Aug 9, 2008, 7:51am »
Ten years ago, a place opened to be a safe haven for mutants trying to escape the reality of a world that hated mutants. This place is called Paradise Manor, despite the fact the building is a mansion. It's design was for residents not to be heroes, but purely for letting them live a normal life. But this neutral state doesn't mean that they avoid being pulled into trouble, or ending up doing the right thing.
Even in that time that has passed things have not changed. The humans still hold prejudices against them, and it doesn't seem that things will ever improve. And there are still threats on the outside within their own kind that detest the residents for not choosing a side.

Medieval Mutant Madness « Result #22 on Jul 27, 2008, 1:41am »
The year is 1100 A.D., during a time often classified as the High Middle Ages. It is a time of magic and mysteries…some mysteries easier solved than others.
There are competing views about magic within various kingdoms. Many claim that gods and goddesses still bless their villages and towns with magic-users while larger cities tend to look more towards monotheism, generally ignoring such ‘magic-users’. What few humans realize is that these ‘magic users’ are actually mutants.
There is a mostly mutant group that has remained quiet for years, known as the Fanallan. Now that monotheism is obtaining a strangle-hold on the world, causing crusades and torture for mutants everywhere, the Fanallan are finally stepping forward to try to achieve equal rights for the “blessed”. This group is made up of ordinary people, from the lowest muckraker to the highest clergymen, some mutant some human. They have three main headquarters in Egypt, China, and Brazil.
In retaliation to the Fanallan, the churches and monarchy have made strikes against mutants, calling their group the Allegiance. Their main bases are set up in France, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
So whom will you join? The mutants trying to fight against genocide? The humans trying to create it? Or will you be neutral or a double agent?
HOT ADDICTION « Result #26 on Jul 20, 2008, 9:31pm »
H O T A D D I C T I O N "When an individual acquires great power, the use or misuse of that power is everything, will it be used for the greater good or will it be used for personal or destructive ends? Now this is a question we must all ask ourselves. why, because we are mutants." 2,000 years in the future a virus is created by a terrorist named Stryfe. This virus came in two forms but now had mutated into a third version, all three are airborne agents. Legacy-1 and Legacy-2 searched for a target organism's "X-factor", the sequence of mutant genes that gave a mutant his/her superpowers. If it did not find an activated X-factor in the target, the viroid would die off, leaving the person completely unaffected. If, however, it did detect the X-factor, it would begin inserting introns into the transcription codings of the victim's mutant RNA, the process commonly being triggered after the patient used their powers for the first time after contracting the disease. The result was a major compromise of the replication and transcription process so disruptive as to eventually render the body incapable of creating healthy cells, ultimately resulting in the death of the victim. Here in the present a few years after the San Fransisco battle between the X-Men and then Brotherhood things have began to die down. Though many mutant hating groups have been organized, these people intend on tracking mutants down and killing them until not one mutant is left standing. The gorvement had once again brought up mutant registration act, to force mutants to out themselves. This alone has brought up so much chaos between then two races of humans and mutants. Now mutant fractions are at war with another. As the marauders try and seek out the morlock tunnels so they may kill each morlock one by one. The mysterious Marauders attack a mutant and her boyfriend in Los Angeles for the purpose of following her back to New York and finding the location of the underground mutant community known as the Morlocks. The ended up killing the female mutant once back in New York and finding out where the morlock tunnels were. Waging war on the tunnels tons of Morlocks were killed along with some Marauders. But before things could get any worse the X-Men showed up trying to stop all the fighting and killing. The Marauders drew back and are now plotting their next attack on Morlocks, as the two fractions are now in the mits of war with one another. Now though a few mutants from the future traveled back to the present time some in hopes of saving the world from it's horrible future and a few to release the Legacy Virus on mutants world wide. If mutants didn't have enough going on already things are only looking more grim for their kind with each passing day as mutants have started dropping dead due to the virus. Now mutants of all fractions have began looking for a cure to save remaining infected mutants of the Legacy Virus. During a month about 35 percent of mutants are dieing and the number only seems to grow with each month as more mutants are beginning to die. This alone has put fear in all mutants as no one knows who is next, and mutants have even started not to trust one another in fear of getting infected with the virus as being breathed on by a mutant with it will get you infected. With everything going on at once has made this world of ours become darker and more grim. Who will live? and who will die? Can anyone really know the answers to these questions. What will You do? Who will you Trust? ( HOT A D D I C T I O N )

Avengers Reborn « Result #31 on Mar 3, 2008, 9:34am »
It's been nearly a century since the Avengers have been needed. The majority of them have passed on, or retired. The Tower has long been abandoned, and untouched. S.H.I.E.L.D. had remained in full effect keeping the world in check and taking care of the very few metahuman threats over the years. It would have seemed that the New Avengers have finally succeeded in achieving a safe world.
Since the tragic events of M-Day the mutants are nearly extinct. There are still a few who have survived this long due to their mutation. Rumours have been spread of a couple people with recently activated X-Genes, however these rumours have not yet been proven.
HYDRA grudgingly surrendered to S.H.I.E.L.D. shortly after the New Avenger's miraculously defeat them on their last mission, resulting in the loss of many strong members. Nick Fury was one of those lost during the gruelling battle.
All of the remaining major threats were taken care of, after HYDRA, by the new commander. With Earth no longer at risk of destruction, all of the teams disbanded, and everyone went back to living a normal life. Some remained in suit for their own reasons, protecting innocents from lesser threats. The world was at peace (as much as it could be anyway).
But recently there has been yet another Earth-shattering event. Over the span of a day Earth had been reduced to a barren, desolate wasteland. All of the natural beauty destroyed, man-made structures nothing more than piles of rubble. Miraculously only 660 000 (approximately) people were slaughtered by this even, roughly one percent of the world's population. The air on the surface is tainted, slightly toxic. The sky has been altered to a blood red, and the Earth's water supply has been decimated.
S.H.I.E.L.D. is frantically running about trying to uncover who could have done this, all the while trying to reform another Avengers team. There isn't much time before the survivors of this event die of 'natural' causes. It's up to S.H.I.E.L.D. to locate the cause and reverse it before the world is decimated once more.

The X Dream: Earth 513 X-Men RPG « Result #48 on Feb 18, 2008, 5:10pm »
The year is 2016. Earth's population is at a staggering 15 billion people. Mutants make up 40 percent of the world's population while the larger percentage of the populace is baseline human.
The enormous fear of most baseline humans was the idea of mutants mixing with their own kind. Not surprisingly to many, United States President Javier Ortega signs into law that allowed local authorities, with the help of technology advanced machines known as Sentinels, to search and capture all mutants living in the US and place them in quarantine camps. Once captured, mutants were then fitted with power inhibitor collars that neutralized their mutant powers.
Six years later a warring race known as the Advancers suddenly appeared battle ready in every major city across the globe. The Advancers, an alien race of genetically engineered beings created from stolen mutant X-genes and then subsequently incorporating those genes into their own alien DNA, gave them superhuman abilities along side their own mental capabilities. Their mission was clear. Travel to the past, capture mutants, and genetically alter the mutant X-gene in order to enhance their own superhuman abilities in the future.
These invaders were not blind to the fact the world's major cities would not give up without a fight. Strangely, superheroes found odd allies against the Advancers. A large proportion of the world's super villains aligned themselves with their bitter enemies in a common goal to send back the invading forces to the future. While the earth's superhero and super villain force combined totaled over two thousand, the Advancers numbered in the tens of thousands.
The Advancer War, as it was called, proved to be a tough one to win for the earth's super beings. Being outnumbered and out powered many of the them were killed within the first several months of the war. All was not lost however. Governments soon called upon their most feared mutant population, which they sent to camps six years earlier, to help defeat the invading force. Putting their bitter feelings aside, most of the world's mutants fought the Advancers with great valor and ferocity. But not all mutants fought along side other heroes. Some mutants hid or aligned themselves with the invaders in hopes to further the advancement of their own agenda of mutant superiority.
Within a few years the Advancers began to see a heavy decline in numbers. No reinforcements were to be sent from the future, the first acknowledgment of their defeat by their leaders in the future. To return to the future, defeated, was not possible either. They were essentially to live or die in the past as their punishment for their disgrace.
In the summer of 2025, the remaining Advancers, numbering now over five hundred, were bitterly driven underground or taken in by those mutants that aligned themselves with them. Humanoid in appearance the Advancers can easily blend in with the rest of the mutant population.
Three years have now passed since defeating the Advancers. The mutant population now makes up over half of the world's population at 60 percent with 40 percent baseline human. No longer hunted, mutants now live freely among the rest of humanity.
Xavier's Institute for the Gifted has been rebuilt and has been accepting applications. The mansion is 3 times the size of the former structure and holds over 600 live-in students. Xavier has established schools all over the world to handle the growing mutant population. Mutants remain free but under great scrutiny from world governments.
We have many characters to choose from. First time players may also submit an Original Character as their first submission. In addition to the RP we have a live chatroom, Blogs, Galleries, contests, and more!

How would you feel?
Trapped in a world unlike your own, where the man who was to become the greatest and most powerful mind on Earth lies dead and buried. Indifferent, yes? For not knowing the man surely means he would not be missed.
So why should you care?
Maybe because living in a world where the tyrant known as Apocalypse reigns supreme over the world of mutants and humans alike, you may find yourself wishing that such a man did indeed exist. Even though you don't know his name, you pray for a solution, someone to rise up and bring an end. An end to the devastation of not only mutants homes, but civilization as the entire world knows it.
Are you scared? Or do you revel in it?
Gathered under Apocalypse, do you, as one of his faithful servants, live and breathe for this destruction? Do you suck in the devastation gleefully, as a child would suck on a milkshake, savoring every sweetly chilling mouthful until there was nothing left but satisfaction?
The fate of the Earth as you know it lies in your hands, and its only salvation in the ideals of Sinister. A traitor, a scientist, a secret rebellion. The lesser of two evils, perhaps, but the only light visible through the dust.
Your prayers have been answered. Which end do you choose?
