It is the year 2008 and the world just brought in the new year with semi peace, they still have fighting in the middle east and most likely will for many years to come, but that is the Human side of the world, the Mutant and Super Hero side is still very much in conflict, and there is very little chance that it shall be resolved as well, any time soon.
Since the Registration Act was passed there has been a lot of violence and hatred shown on both sides of the line, which has brought back old groups and even formed some new groups in the wake of it all, you got new school founded by the White Queen herself Emma Frost who wishes to teach both mutant and human alike as long as they have talent.
There is also Secret groups such as the F.A.B that is commanded then none other then Nick Fury, the once thought dead leader of S.H.I.E.L.D, he has returned to start his own group to counter the now "corrupt" S.H.I.E.L.D that is now lead by Tony Stark, which has been tasked to take out those that do not fall into line with what the Government wants.
And we have old and new enemies that could pose a great threat to all man and mutant kind. So there is no telling what will happen.
